A Late Stuart / Early Georgian Period Delft Barbers Bowl.
We have 1 in stock.
A very rare late Stuart/ early Georgian period Delft blue and white barbers bowl. This item which dates to circa 1720 -1730 AD, is a wonderful survivor from its time.
This item would have been used by the Barber surgeon of the day to either shave a customer or stitch a wound likely from an edged weapon or gunshot.
A very stable firing crack can be seen as shown, but all part of its history and has been present for nearly three hundred years. Delft ware is known to be a soft glaze pottery and as such this item has the usual chips and dinks associated with a piece of this age. A wonderful charismatic piece which would enhance any collection.
As with all of my antiques this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity. Period style: Georgian (1714 – 1837) Dimension: 28.0 In Dia. Item location: In the Centre
