A very rare roman bronze face mount of the god Bacchus.
This piece which was likely mounted on a bronze jug or bowl, has a typical native celtic wedge shaped nose.
Dating to circa the 1st -2nd century AD,it shows wonderful detail to the face and hair, and is further enhanced by a stunning green patina to the bronze.
Ex.Hertfordshire excavations in 1972.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
