Victorian silver and mother of pearl dessert knives and forks for nine. In the original fitted case with blue velvet interior. The case has a lovely cartouche with a presentation inscription dated 1874 relating to Trinity Church in Cheltenham. The set was retailed by Arthur Price of Cheltenham.
Each knife blade and fork tine is hallmarked for Sheffield 1870 by Henry Wilkinson & Co. The ferrules and terminals are silver plated and each terminal is crested.
In excellent order with surface wear commensurate with age. No damage to the silver, or mother of pearl. The case is in very good order with a working key and some minor veneer losses.
Approximate cased weight is 2.5 kilos.
Approximate case dimensions are 30.5 cm length, 25.5 cm width and 7 cm height.
Approximate knife dimensions: 21.8 cm length and 1.9 cm blade width.
Approximate fork dimensions: 18.5 cm length and 1.8 cm tine width.
