Georgian, George III, set of 12 silver dinner forks with ivory handles. London 1805 John Mewburn. 1.15 kilos gross.
We have 1 in stock.
Georgian, George III, silver dinner forks with ivory handles. These are probably the best made set of forks that I have seen and made from a very heavy gauge of silver. Each fork is identically monogrammed on the silver stem.
Please ensure that the importation of antique ivory is permitted, if ordering from outside of the U.K.
In very good order. There is no damage to the silver and the tines are in good shape. There are some minor splits on the ivory handles, but this is quite normal and will not affect use. I have included a photograph that illustrates these splits. There will be surface wear and signs of use as the are 214 years old.
Each fork is hallmarked for London London 1805 by John Mewburn.
Approximate total weight for all 12 forks is 1.151 kilos.
Approximate dimensions of one fork are 22 cm length by 2.2 cm tine width.
