A silver cream jug hallmarked Sheffield 1920. Maker William Hutton and Sons Ltd.
A very attractive item featuring a gadrooned rim, a patterned body and a highly decorative handle. The date 1920 places the jug in the middle of the Art Deco period and the geometric aspects of the design are so typical of this period.
The jug is raised on four ball feet and made from a good gauge of silver giving the jug a solid feel as well as been very tactile.
In excellent overall condition.
This jug could make a lovely addition to a collection of vintage silverware and will be considered a genuine antique in 2020 when it will be 100 years old.
This item is available online only however if visiting the Antiques Centre please visit Cabinet 138 on the Lower Ground Floor to view a selection of collectables, silverware, costume jewellery and Moorcroft pottery from early vintage pieces to more modern examples.
