A vintage Moorcroft shallow bowl in the Anemone design.
The diameter is 219mm (8.62 inch) and the height 33mm (1.29 inch).
The anemone pattern was first designed by William Moorcroft in 1938 and then redrawn by Walter Moorcroft in 1975. Walter Moorcroft retired in 1987 but in 1988 he was invited to redraw the original design, and the new range was issued in 1989.
This shallow bowl has the majority of the 'Potters To The Late Queen Mary' paper label on the base and as this label was used from 1953 to 1978 the item can be dated to this period, and is clearly of genuine vintage age.
Condition:-
Antique and vintage items may have small imperfections and/or idiosyncrasies due to the manufacturing processes of the day, usage perhaps over many years and how an item has been stored but any significant issues will always be highlighted in the description. High quality images are provided and of course any questions will be answered as accurately as possible.
This shallow bowl has been closely inspected and assessed as in very good vintage condition. In fact the only the only issue considered worthy of separate mention are a few minor scratch type marks to the central upper surface possible caused by utensils or maybe another item standing there. The base level has also been checked and assessed to be within 0.2mm.
The colours remain bright and on the dark blue ground make for an attractive display item.
