A large vintage Moorcroft vase in the Hibiscus pattern.
A substantial item having a height of 20.8cm (8.18 inches) a width (across the widest section) of 14.8cm and a weight of 1.17kg
The original hibiscus pattern was designed by Walter Moorcroft in 1949 and then redrawn from 1960. The coral hibiscus pattern originally from 1968, as featured on this vase, was also designed by Walter Moorcroft.
Moorcroft began using year cyphers in 1990 to show when an item was actually made and as there is no year cypher on this vase the latest time it could have been made should be c1989.
From the detail above the vase can therefore reasonably be assessed as made c1968 to c1989 and clearly of genuine vintage age.
Antique and vintage items may have imperfections due to usage and age. Any major issues will be always be highlighted in the description however please study images carefully.
There is a small, very shallow chip on the base of the vase which may be difficult to see on from the images so is mentioned here for accuracy of description.
The vase is otherwise in excellent condition with only very faint glaze crazing.
The vase should fit nicely into many a collection of vintage Moorcroft pottery whilst in the right setting its size could also make it ideal as a stand alone specimen item.
