A good Japanese Chisa Katana. The blade is in good original polish with a beautiful Nokogiri Midare Hamon.( Irregular Sawteeth.)  The hada which is difficult to see is Itame. The blade app 20 inches in length has no faults. The blade dates from the late Koto Period or very early Shinto. ( 1600s. ) The tang is signed with four characters  Fugi Wara. ( Clan Name. ) and made by Toyo Masa. The brass hammered tsuba is Shin-No-Maru-Gata. ( Round. )The hilt is of world war two type although the grip is wound in green material as opposed to the normal brown. The wooden scabbard has a leather combat cover that could do with a good leather feed. One good plus is that the press stud is still attached. Over all A very nice early Katana.
