Hallmarked Silver HMS Satyr WW1 Destroyer 1917 Cigarette box
This is an original filly hallmarked silver cigarette box featuring a WW1 R Class destroyer HMS Satyr, this was given to her Captain on her commissioning date of 2nd February 1917
The piece is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1916 by Walker and Hall.
HMS Satyr has a long list of battle honours during WW1 and joined the 10th destroyer flotilla and the Captain De Burgh received the Distinguished Service Order in their first action of the war in June 1917.
These rarely come on the open market and are usually kept within families or in collections.
