A wonderful quality medieval period iron battle axe head.
This item which has been fully conserved, dates to circa 14th -15th century AD.
It has a good solid cutting edge as would be expected with a hammer head to the other end.
The hammer head would have been used to smash through armour plate of the type used by mounted knights. This type of weaponry was used by both men at arms and mounted knights.
A rare survivor of its time in wonderful allover condition.
Ex. North Yorkshire find /collection from the 1970s.
Size 15.5 CM in Length.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
