Completely unusual and slightly bizarre 'basket of flowers' Victorian locket, with full British hallmarks for sterling silver. The date letter is quite worn and obscured but it looks to me like the 'h' for 1882. (It could also be the 'b' for 1876?)
I have never seen a figurative locket like this before! Totally unique.
The locket opens from the top. Inside remains the original glass and inner ring ready for a photo (one side only - the other side is empty).
Sold with a vintage 16 inch silver chain as pictured. This chain originally had an old barrel clasp (indicating its age), but it was damaged. My jeweller has replaced it with a new sterling silver clasp. If you'd prefer the locket without the chain, or with a different one, just get in touch :)
CONDITION:There are a few small pock marks on the reverse and around the sides. Otherwise in very good condition. Very light wear/scratching commensurate with age.
