Born in Paris, Marcel Boucher moved to New York in the 1920's developing a passion for jewellery design and studied under Pierre Cartier. In the 1930s, he took a job with Mazer Bros., where he worked until he founded his own company in 1937.

Boucher items, which are usually signed, can be roughly dated based on their inventory number and mark.  This helps us date these fantastic earrings as being made in the 1960's.  Marcel Boucher sold some of his amazing costume jewellery through the company CIRO and this is one of those pieces.

These stunning earrings are crafted in white metal with a rhodium plating and are set with white paste and terminating in a cabochon blue paste.  The section with the blue stone and the small cluster above is detachable giving the wearer the choice of either a cluster or a drop.  The fittings are clip on and both parts of the earrings are marked with the inventory number and are signed.  The overall length is 65mm.  In their original fitted Ciro case.  In very good condition and highly collectible.
