Francisque-Joseph Duret (1804-1865) pair of Bronze Neapolitan fishermen dancing the Tarantella, on the sand with various shells at their feet, one with a Tambourine the other with castanets. Marks to base Duret F, Quesnel Fondeur/E Quesnel. 

Cast by Quesnel between 1838-1841. Can be dated precisely because pieces before 1838 were marked Richard & Quesnel, post 1841 they were marked Quesnel et Cie.

Dark patinated, very good condition, minor wear
