A massively rare Romano- Celtic solid silver TOT ring.
Romano Celtic means that the Roman styles and beliefs and those of the native celtic population have come together in a particular style and form.
This item which dates to circa 2nd -3rd century AD , is in wonderful all over condition.
The name TOT is an abbreviation of the Romano-Celtic god Totatis, who had a similar standing to the Roman god mars.
Known to be mainly found in and around the Lincolnshire area ,this type of ring would have had local connection to this god / Deity .
A stunning item seldom seen outside important collections.
Lincolnshire excavations in the 1973.
Size UK- K and a half ( 2.0 cm in Dia.)
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
