A very rare and seldom seen medieval archers long knife.
This item which dates to circa 15th century AD, is in fully conserved condition.
It is complete with approximately 70% of its original wooden grip and small thumb plate as shown.
These thin bladed long knives were often used by archers to finish off fallen or wounded knights/ men at arms by inserting the blade through the folds in the armour plate.
Rare to find and from an old north yorkshire collection formed in the early 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
