A Large Medieval Period Decorated Leather Knife Scabbard.reference no SN10436
A very rare large medieval period decorated leather knife scabbard.
This item which is a very rare survivor from the period ,has been professionally and fully conserved and is in very soft and supple condition.
It dates to circa 13th-15th century AD, and is in wonderful all over condition .
The original stitching has long since perished in antiquity and there is a tear across the front panel which is very stable and not at all
obvious and mentioned only for accuracy.
This item would have originally carried a large knife and been a real statment piece to its owner.
Ex. Blackfriars Excavations in London on the river thames in the 1970s .
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity .
